Why Your Fears Manifest | The Reverse Rule of Manifestation

One of the most powerful Metaphysical Rules of Reverse (more on that in a future article) to understand, is knowing that your fears will always manifest themselves, though often in ways you did not expect and never could have predicted. Once you recognize this, you will begin to see it quite clearly. And, having this understanding, you will begin to be able to dissipate your fears before they come to pass.

Fear falls on a wide spectrum, but is basically always related to expectations and/or attachments. If you truly had no preference for anything, life or death, joy or suffering, good or evil, then fear (in any incarnation—worry, anxiety, control, etc.) would not be an element of your experience.

Wanting or desiring something invariably creates a dualistic energy. To want something means to not want something else (its opposite or alternate outcomes). As much energy as you put into the desire that you have, it is equally balanced with a fearful energy into the opposite outcome. To the metaphysical principle known as the Law of Attraction, energy is energy, and so you will be manifesting both what you desire and the opposite under this circumstance.

We will explore the solution to this quandary at the end of this article.

But first, let’s ground this idea with some hypothetical examples. Here are some obvious ways in which fears manifest themselves, despite and even due to one’s efforts to avoid them:

  • The controlling mother who doesn’t let her child have a social life for fear they will fall victim to a partying lifestyle and then the child goes off to college and parties harder than anyone else.

  • The insecure partner who is afraid that their girlfriend will break up with them. That very insecurity is highly unattractive and the girl ends up breaking up with him for that very reason.

  • The person who is afraid of speaking in front of an audience. Their very fear is what causes them to choke up on stage and forget everything they’ve practiced.

  • Fear of gaining weight and looking a certain way causes someone great anxiety, which keeps them from going to the gym (out of embarrassment) and eventually their stress turns them to binge eating.

  • Being afraid of failure causes one not to make an attempt, and thus they have failed by default.

These start to give you an idea of how this Rule of Reverse functions.

Most of the time, however, the fear manifests itself much more subtly. Sometimes it does not even manifest externally, but creates internal conditions that mimic the way one would feel if those external conditions came to pass:

  • Afraid of not having any real friends? Perhaps you actually have great friends, but you still always doubt their sincerity and feel alone, even when you are with them.

  • Want to be trendy and cool? You might wear all the ‘right’ clothes and say all the ‘right’ things, but secretly feel that you are not actually that ‘cool’ and can’t relax into a genuinely cool vibe.

  • Want to be perceived as intelligent? People will perceive you as very knowledgable, but you never actually feel like you’re smart enough.

The reason why your fears manifest is the same mechanism behind the law of attraction.

Metaphysical (emotional) energy is being infused into a thought or belief. This energy, whether positive or negative, creates the thought/belief in the metaphysical realm, which is the place from which the physical is derived/reflected. (The sayings as ‘above so below’ or ‘as within so without’ convey this idea.)

This is why even if you control your physical reality to avoid a specific outcome, the essence of your fear or attachment will eventually materialize—because it has already been created (by you) and has existence in the metaphysical, so it must be reflected in the physical world as they are counterparts to each other.

To avoid this outcome, we can put energy into manifesting something without attachment (desire) for it to actually come to pass. In the Presence-Growth-Surrender Journaling framework (coming soon), our wants are recognised and then released, genuinely trusting the highest universal principle which is beyond duality to manifest what is genuinely in the interest of our collective highest purpose.

Journaling Prompt

Fill in the blanks:

As long as __(something you desire or fear)__ then ___(expected outcome)___ .

...then I'll have ____________ .

...then I'll feel ____________ .

...then I'll be ____________ .

Does the second blank in the statement already in exist inside of you? What would happen if you released your attachment to what you wrote in the first blank?
